| History
It is not possible to mention the
History of the field of a Professional Kinesiology Practitioner
without giving credit to Dr. George Goodheart, Jr. DC. As a
patient of his more than 20 years ago and experiencing his
incredible insight and genius first hand, it was not possible to be
unaffected and impacted by what I experienced.
In
1964 some initial discoveries by Dr. Goodheart, presented a whole
new perspective on viewing and working with the body. It was then
through Dr. Goodheart’s inquisitive mind, voracious study and
tenacity that he linked the discoveries of many past researchers
into a new understanding of how the body, mind and emotions all work
together and how each component has an effect on the others.
Dr. Goodheart shared his findings with colleagues who continued on
with, and expanded upon what Dr. Goodheart had learned. The names of
those original pioneers in the field are too numerous to include but
their contributions can not be minimized. One of those men the late
Dr. John Thie was instrumental into bringing the techniques into a
concise, useable package designed for the individual to help
themselves, friends and family. This concise package which began in
the 1970’s was named, “Touch for
Health”. Touch for Health started as a workbook and
continued as a series of weekend classes to teach the techniques to
interested laypersons or professionals. Touch for Health is now
taught all over the world.
Here at Professional Kinesiology Services we teach the Touch for
Health series of classes and continue to expand into more
Kinesiology classes as they are developed by the
International College
of Professional Kinesiology Practice.
 Many
other fields of Kinesiology have developed over the years but almost
all have their roots in the original Touch for Health Synthesis
developed by Dr. John Thie. Matthew Thie, John’s son
is carrying on in the work of his father.
Dr. Wayne Topping, PhD., has also
been instrumental in further study and research over the years. His
work is compiled under the title of BioKinesiology.
The
title of Professional Kinesiology Practitioner is from the program
developed by the life long work of Dr. Bruce Dewe, MD and
wife Joan Dewe of Auckland NZ. Dr. Dewe and his wife have
literally traveled the globe many times studying, compiling
information from doctors, researchers and practitioners around the
world. These techniques are from ancient times to the latest, most
recent discoveries. The Professional Kinesiology Program is a four
year degree program approved by the New Zealand Government and
taught and colleges throughout the world. Prior to it’s
establishment as a four year degree program the techniques have been
taught in intensive workshops settings world wide. The first college
teaching the four year program in the US recently opened in NY this
past year (2006)
International College of Healing Arts.
There is much more to be told of the development of the amazing
techniques of Professional Kinesiology Practitioner. More of the
information is shared in our classes. |
